AFR is the single most important factor in my conversion to Orthodoxy. I had really never been exposed to Orthodoxy until I began listening to it. Once I was fully exposed to it, so many questions I had were answered. I honestly can’t imagine my life without AFR now. God bless you all, now and ever and unto the ages of ages.
I have grown more as a Christian in the last few years since I have found AFR than I have in the previous 10 (at least). Until I convert to Orthodoxy, this is all I have to fill the void or inadequacies I experience in the Evangelical tradition. It has been such an amazing blessing, it is almost impossible to describe. Thank you and God bless.
Ancient Faith Radio is beyond description. I would be lost without it. The programming is so rich and varied. I listen everyday. I download podcasts and listen in my car. Simply captivating. Thank you!
Ancient Faith Radio has been instrumental to my inquiry of the Orthodox Faith. I am not able to attend services as much as I’d like to for personal reasons, but your programs and music have been a great encouragement to me to keep moving on this journey, and a great resource for learning. I’m thankful for all of your show hosts—especially Kevin Allen, Fr. Stephen Freeman, and Matthew Gallatin (not to mention all the music). It’s made listening to Ancient Faith Radio a warm and comforting place to be. Thank you so very much!
Basically AFR and the podcasts pushed me down the road to conversion.
AFR has taught me a lot about Orthodoxy and has been a great help to me as an inquirer and now as a catechumen. I credit Ancient Faith Radio in part for drawing me to Orthodoxy.
The music is peaceful and uplifting. I also have found some very interesting lectures and podcasts about Christianity in general, and of course I am learning more about Orthodoxy itself.
AFR has been a major and vital source of information about the Orthodox Christian faith, and a great source of inspiration and encouragement.
The music is beautiful for prayer, meditation, or background as I read. I have a particular interest in church history, doctrine, theology and such. I find the talk radio very interesting. I hope to get an iPod type of player so I can listen more often, and download the talk side for my drives to work, and listen to music mostly when I’m at home.
It is wonderful to know that when I desire to hear chanting that brings inspiration to my soul, I can listen to Ancient Faith Radio.
It has given me a better understanding of Orthodoxy and has helped to shape the way I live.
AFR is a lifeline of spiritual nourishment.
It is so important to me at any time of the day or night. I can only attend Liturgy once a month, but Ancient Faith Radio brings all the joys of Holy Orthodoxy to me every day.
It fills my home with beautiful music. Through the spiritual music , my home is then blessed and protected by the bodiless wonders.
I am constantly learning how to live as an integrated Orthodox Christian. The talk and music are a great encouragement. Being blind, I don’t have a ready access to printed material as some, and I appreciate hearing readings from the writings of the church fathers, saints, lives of the saints, etc. I especially like that the talk sessions are rerun several times, so that I can hear them again, as I am not yet a podcast downloader.
I really appreciate the content of the podcasts. While I’m always exploring the ways of my faith, I find them to be thought provoking and informative. Plus, I believe the content is helpful in “shoring up” what I believe, so to speak. The music is wonderful. I listen to it mostly when I am doing things . I’ve always said that sacred music in any form is a way to direct oneself to God that much more ably.
Being in the South we do not have the luxury of an Orthodox church on every corner. I am so grateful for the opportunity to hear lectures by our respected Orthodox leaders. I would very much like to see the services such as the Divine Liturgy and the Pre-Sanctified Liturgy as well as Great Vespers and Vigils posted for viewing online. May God bless you for your work.
It has kept me connected to the entire Church through different musical traditions, authors, etc. Thanks so very much.
AFR is my church when I cannot get to church, which is often, as we have no local parish in where we live. My unchurched husband also likes hearing the chants and songs, thus bringing the kingdom of God near to him. Thank you so much.
The music blesses my soul. I am going through intense mental struggles. Podcasts refresh me.
As I work in Eastern Europe, I have found that every liturgical service is in a foreign language. My only source for Orthodox information and teaching in English is AFR. AFR is vitally important for me, both the music and podcasts.
I continue to learn so much about the Faith. I have started reading more books and recommending them to my friends. I always tell people who are interested in learning more about Orthodoxy to listen to AFR. They will be glad they did. Thank you so much for your hard work. Many years!
It has been a lifeline at times during my battle with breast cancer, when I was unable to attend church. Now that my condition is stable I use it while I work at home. It is informative, encouraging, entertaining and educational. It is food for the soul. I appreciate the Orthodox connection.
Ancient Faith Radio has been a magnificent resource as I slowly creep towards Orthodoxy. The Faith of Our Fathers Lutheran Colloquium was especially helpful, and I frequently listen to both of the streaming stations. Thank you!
AFR energizes my faith while teaching and supporting our family beliefs. We attend a parish that is struggling spiritually so your music and talk channel can be a lifeline to me at times. Thank you and many blessings!
An excellent source for me to learn more about Orthodoxy; it also keeps me grounded spiritually on a regular basis.
I enjoy listening to Father Thomas Hopko’s podcasts very much. His kind but firm voice, which denotes a strong faith in God, can help people strengthen their own faith in our more and more secular world. Being a teacher of English in Romania and an Orthodox, I am very pleased to hear about my faith in the English language. Thank you very much! God help you in your work!
AFR provides beautiful and peaceful music to listen to while working.
It gives me strength of faith and depth in understanding and knowledge.
I love listening to AFR at work and home. It helps keep me calm in the midst of chaos and keeps me focused throughout the day. Thanks for making it possible.
AFR has built me up in my faith and helped me rest in the Lord.
AFR has fantastic podcasts. I enjoy them very much.
It makes such a difference in being able to keep my mind where it should be! I have learned so much from the podcasts and feel like I have a more constant connection to the church.
I play AFR at the office while I work and it calms me and inspires my co-workers. At home I put it on while I work on the computer. Our next step is to buy something so we can listen in others areas of our home.
AFR enriches my faith and understanding of this “pearl without price”, Holy Orthodoxy.
As I work in the office I listen to the programs on AFR. It helps me in my priestly ministry. I enjoy the liturgical music, podcasts, etc. Please continue your work for the Holy Church and its faithful.
AFR gives a sense of peace in these turbulent times.
It has made my office a place where even when I am doing “work” it is still filled with the sounds of the church. Thank you!
I learned a tremendous amount from the talk shows and podcasts as an inquirer/catechumen, and I continue to learn from them as a convert. And I love the music side, too, because it is so comforting. I thank God for Ancient Faith Radio and its ministry. Please keep up the good work.
It is just great to be able to bring either the church’s worship or theology into my office every day through the music and talks that are offered. I believe AFR is one of the greatest tools of evangelism and discipleship that we have in America for the modern American. Keep up the good work and may God’s blessing be upon your ministry.
I rarely listen to the streaming audio for either station. Rather, using iTunes I download several podcasts periodically and load them on my iPod for listening while I walk to work. AFR is perhaps the richest resource of contemporary Orthodox discussion I can think of.
As a recent convert, Ancient Faith Radio served as a catechetical instructor for me. It helped me to better understand Orthodox spirituality, theology and current events. It also helped me to better transition from the Western spiritual perspective to a more Eastern perspective.
I live in an area where there is no Orthodox ministry; the radio helps fill the gap. Also, our child overhears the radio and though it sounds foreign to her, it still subliminally reinforces our Eastern roots and traditions. Thank you!
I have attended the Nazarene church my whole life (I’m almost 50) and just recently stumbled onto the Orthodox Church. The first time I visited I felt at home, which is very odd since it’s about as far from the Nazarene church as you can get. I am completely ignorant about the Orthodox Church and its beliefs, so I love listening to AFR because I learn so much from it, and it raises even more questions for me.
AFR edifies, educates, challenges and refreshes me daily.
AFR is my daily connection to the Universal Church. It has been the most beneficial aid to my spiritual life that I can think of since I converted 16 years ago.
It reminds me and helps me stay focused on Christ throughout the day. I keep the station on all the time as background music in our home. Its impact cannot be explained.
AFR is an oasis in the midst of a desert. I listen throughout my work day. I work in a county Children and Youth Agency, which can be very stressful. Others in the office have heard the music, and my supervisor has appreciated its soothing presence at times. I listen in hopes of planting seeds.
The podcasts are the greatest blessing to me as I explore the world of the Eastern Orthodox Church as I come from a Protestant background. Thank you!
The stations as well as the podcasts help keep me on track. Orthodoxy has been called a way of life, not just something you visit. I am the type of person who needs those constant reminders of what I am and what I need to do to help me be an example to others, to help bring others to our church, to do the right things.
AFR has profoundly affected my spiritual growth and my journey into Orthodoxy. The music has a calming effect on my soul. The podcasts have almost made my head spin. I think: “This is what I have been searching for throughout my entire Christian journey. This is Truth.” When I first started listening, there were many podcasts, including Our Life in Christ and in others, that have the resounding message: Do not judge others. Hearing it in a variety of ways from a variety of sources, accompanied with attendance at the Divine Services of the Church, I hope and believe that I have learned to judge less today than when I first began this journey. Lord, have mercy.
I enjoy listening to Ancient Faith Radio when working on my computer. My husband and I work out of our home and publish a local newspaper as well as run a human resource/banking consulting business.
AFR keeps me in touch with excellent theologians of the Orthodox Church. Their lessons are uplifting.
Well, the podcasts completely changed my life. I am now Orthodox and this would not have happened (at least not nearly as fast) without your station. Right now my favorite podcast is “Speaking the Truth in Love” by Fr. Thomas Hopko. Although “Our Life in Christ” is the podcast that originally answered my questions, not so much even about Orthodoxy but about life and how it is that Christ has given us a way to live now that has miraculously lasted through the ages.
I enjoy hearing the familiar hymns in Greek, English and Russian.
I’ve enjoyed AFR tremendously and have drawn a lot of strength from it in pretty hard times. It is comforting.
I really like “Search the Scriptures” and Fr. Pat Reardon’s two podcasts. Both are very helpful for understanding the Bible.
The podcasts help me learn about my faith. Some church adult education classes have been too basic and rambling. The podcasts I listen to are not at all superficial, and fulfill my desire to grow in my faith.
A constant reminder of the one true constant, the love of Christ.
It helps me in keeping up with my prayer life, worship, and growing in the Christian faith.
I can truly say this station is more than a radio station. It’s a seminary school! Thank you so much.
It’s the only regular and consistent information I can get on Orthodoxy on a regular basis as I explore Orthodoxy more deeply.
It has been a great way to broaden my understanding of Orthodox theology and praxis.
I work/teach in a Catholic seminary and play AFR in my office as a way to prompt discussion about Eastern Orthodoxy, its history, its spirituality, its liturgical music, the Patristic Fathers, etc. It really broadens the experience of Catholic seminarians who want to explore the Eastern half of the Church!
AFR keeps me from listening to music that would keep me from God. It helps me focus on what is important during my hectic day!
I like listening to the music at work. I work at kind of a humdrum job, and it’s really nice to relax to the chanting.
I greatly enjoy listening to the music from the various choirs.
AFR is the next best thing to attending seminary for us who can’t.
It’s like experiencing church instantly. Sometimes I just need that tranquil, safe, and close feeling to God, and this helps me get there. Hearing the Liturgy or the Jesus Prayer can be so familiar and comforting. You know what I mean.
It enhances my understanding of faith.
I love to listen to Ancient Faith Radio late at night when my spirit is peaceful. I then have ears to hear all of the speakers whom Kevin Allen has interviewed, and it is incredible. After listening, I feel as though I know them on a first name basis, and what they have to say is life changing.
It has been instrumental in my growth as an Orthodox Christian.
It has brought to my life wondrous chant that has been greatly edifying. Thank you!
I am not Orthodox but enjoy the chants. It relaxes me and makes me think about our Lord.
I am a convert priest. I have learned the faith through reading and correspondence. Listening to Orthodox speakers has greatly enriched my learning and understanding of the faith. I thank God for your ministry.
Ancient Faith Radio had a great impact on me as I journeyed from being a Lutheran pastor to “coming home” to Holy Mother Church. I have enjoyed the music and the talk then and I do now. For instance, I have the Hours on a CD in my car: In the morning I listen to/pray Matins, First, Third, Sixth, and Ninth Hours. On the way home I listen to Vespers and Compline. I also listen to various speakers.
AFR constantly gives me new insights and just peace of heart and mind.
AFR has affected me very significantly. I love the music and have learned so very much from the talks.
AFR has impacted me largely in two ways. The first is educational, teaching me more about the Orthodox faith and how to live it in today’s world in the American context. Second, it keeps my mind focused on Christ, helping me to pray without ceasing.
It is a help on my journey towards salvation.
It has often helped to answer questions no one else was willing to or capable of answering. I am a former Pentecostal pastor and I like to have facts and information to help the Scriptures come alive, and I have found the material I have listened to has assisted in doing just that.
I love the podcasts. They are a great resource for all of us, both converts and cradle Orthodox. They keep us informed, and they educate us.
Ancient Faith Radio puts peace in my heart and has helped me with my journey toward spiritual growth. Although I do not listen as often as I would like or I hope to in the future, AFR has helped me and enriched me spiritually and for that I am very grateful.
I am able to hear beautiful music and chant and hear the spoken word of truth.
It has been wonderful to listen to the Pan-Orthodox hymns and to fill my morning with prayer.
The “Search the Scriptures” podcast with Presbytera Jeannie Constantinou has been tremendously helpful in my journey into Orthodoxy! Her work and service for Christ will touch thousands if she continues, I am sure.
This beautiful liturgical music has deepened my spirtual life and made work much more bearable!
AFR is truly heaven sent!
It is very edifying! It helps me strive toward the constant remembrance of God and his Kingdom!
It makes all the difference to me during my workday. I’m able to learn more about the Faith and strengthen my connection to the liturgical music of the Church.
The podcasts brought me into the Orthodox Faith. I couldn’t read enough, and they answered so many of my questions without asking.
AFR has been absolutely essential to my growth in Christ. The music and the podcasts have been an absolute lifeline for me during the time I am not in church. We have a long commute to our church, and AFR keeps my family and I connected to the Faith when we are not in church.
I am a cradle Orthodox early music freak so I especially like the fact that everything you play on Ancient Faith Music is in my taste. I find the quotes of the saints very uplifting. I also like “The Path” being repeated throughout the day so if I miss it once I still get to hear it.
AFR has peaceful, inspirational, and often familiar music as I work at my computer. I also find value in the teachings and readings presented.
This is a blessing while I am on the computer in the evening of my daily chores. I do so love this broadcast. This brings me closer to the Orthodox Faith, as I am a convert from Roman Catholicism. God bless you all.
I am exploring different forms of worship. I listen most days as part of my evening prayers.
As a new convert to Orthodoxy (I came into the Church four years ago), I find that AFR is an awesome source to learn about the Faith, church fathers, etc. It certainly is my most used resource!
The music is inspiring! The podcasts are insightful and educational. I especially enjoy the readings of the Fathers. They have given me a greater love for our church and deeper understanding. Thanks!
You have been a doorway into unimagined treasure.
My family and I love it! My son is an iconographer and he listens to AFR while painting.
It provides a worshipful and meditative alternative to contemporary Christian and gospel music.
I enjoy the music at times especially with some of the readings from the church fathers. I wish there were a podcast of different church fathers. I have enjoyed some of the podcasts, and they have resonated with or deepened what I have read in other places or experienced in church.
AFR is educational, inspirational, encouraging. The music brings a peace to the activities that I’m involved in while listening. Kevin Allen’s show is my favorite.
It is very peaceful and encouraging to have on while I do my laundry, clean house and play with the children throughout the day.
I think it is wonderful. I am currently in between jobs and I have it on all day long as I look for work on the Internet or am working around the house. It creates a wonderful mood in me and everywhere in our home.
AFR has affected me very positively. It has greatly deepened my interest in Orthodoxy and reminds me that God is always present. I’m grateful for your website and this ministry that is always just a couple of clicks away, even at three in the morning.
I love the music and Scripture readings. It relaxes me and helps me pray.
It really helps me to relax when I listen to AFR. My favorites are the “Close to Home” series, though I do love all that I hear. I’ve learned quite a bit already. I’m a returning convert so this is helping remind me about the greatness of Orthodoxy as well. Thanks for this service! I hope it stays!
The contemplative/monastic chants and words from the mystic saints resonate with me. The radio station breaks down barriers and open us to what is of common understanding and Spirit.
The reliably available input of Orthodox music, encouragement, teaching, and information really keeps me going. I would spend more time than I can really afford reading on many Orthodox topics if I didn’t have this wonderful tool to fill my mind with things I should be dwelling on.
AFR keeps me grounded and reminds me how important it is to keep Christ as the center of all I do. It also centers and calms me during the storms of life.
I’m now an inquirer, which is both exciting and scary. I have gained invaluable information from the podcasts I download to my iPod. Thank you!
I have learned so much of what I have experienced in the church services. Thank you and may God bless your ministry. I pray I will be able to support your work soon. Right now I can only ask our Lord for his blessings.
AFR is my daily encouragement through its music and my daily chance to learn and grow through its wonderful podcasts, especially “Search the Scriptures”. AFR makes me feel part of the Orthodox Church, especially in my town where the only Orthodox church is the very small mission that I attend.
It has been a good way to learn about the Faith, I can listen to AFR around the house when I don’t have time to read.
I really enjoy the music. It is inspirational and very harmonic.
I work in New York City and commute by train and subway. I am able to download the podcasts for my commute and also when working out at my health club. I am blessed to have found Ancient Faith Radio. God bless your ministry and you!
I was raised in the Orthodox Church and listening returns me to my roots in Orthodoxy. I find peace and calm in returning to the music of my formulative years.
This has changed my life. Your podcasters and music are excellent. Favorites? “Glory to God”, “Faith and Philosophy”, “Healing” (Father Morelli), and “Orthodixie”.
The only podcast I listen to is Fr. Thomas Hopko’s and no one can even touch him in terms of quality and depth. I also listen to the station just for the general Orthodox chant at work and at home.
It allows me to experience the beautiful hymns of the faithful and enrich my studies as a catechumen.
It’s a wonderful way to stay connected during the week while I am at work and is often the most calming influence in my life.
AFR provides spiritual peace, tranquility and uplifting during the course of a workday.
It is a blessing beyond words to hear the faith sung and spoken.
It’s a wonderful and comforting reminder of the holy, catholic Church.
Listening to Ancient Faith Radio has led to a deepening of my understanding of our Orthodox Faith, and thus to a deepening of my faith in Christ. It has helped to undo 25 years of bad Protestant theology.
I feel more at peace and focused because listening to the music makes it more likely that I will think about prayer and Scripture.
The music is excellent. I especially loved hearing Dr. Brad Nassif’s podcast. I miss his program and hope he will return soon. The Church needs to keep more focused on the centrality and clarity of the gospel and he seems to help us keep our eyes on the ball in that way. You’re doing a wonderful job all around. Thank you so much for making Ancient Faith Radio available. God bless you and provide for your needs.
AFR had strengthened my faith and aided my devotional life.
AFR has been a great blessing in my life. I have learned a great deal about our Holy Faith through your ministry. I am particularly gratified that AFR regularly plays cuts from a CD my former parish’s choir made. It was a rather amateur recording, but it sounds great on AFR! Thank you for allowing us to share our praises to the Lord and our Lady with people around the world. Likewise, I appreciate the wide variety of music you play, and have purchased several CDs based on having heard the artists on your programs. I likewise am thankful for the very helpful and educational podcasts. My favorites are “Our Life in Christ”, “Frederica Here and Now”, and the Bible studies from Dr. Jeannine Constantinou. I also want to thank John and Tatiana for responding to emails I’ve sent, including burning a short CD for me of a particular reading I enjoyed from one of your broadcasts. May God continue to bless you and to allow AFR to grow year by year as you proclaim the gospel!
Ancient Faith Radio educates, motivates and inspires us. It keeps us in touch with the broader Orthodox world and helps us center our hearts and minds on the gospel. Thank you so much!
As a “Roman” who recently became “Eastern” within Catholicism, it’s been a great aid in coming to better understand Eastern Christianity’s culture, history, and traditions.
Now I have something good to listen to when at work.
I have learned so much and this has made my faith deeper and fuller. Thank you.
I love the music and how it is separated from the talk. I like the short stories of the saints woven into it as well. It calms me down. It helps me focus on God. I will listen to the music when I am in my room, especially in the morning when I am getting up.
I am recent convert from Roman Catholicism and the podcasts have really enriched my renewed walk on the Way. I have vocal musical training and the Orthodox music is now my favorite type. I am putting some albums on gift lists and hope to contribute in some other way some time out of a small income. You are much appreciated and may God continue to bless you.
I enjoy the music and the talks. I am relaxed when I hear the music.
I’ve really enjoyed some of the podcasts. Bursts of joy in the middle of the day!
AFR has allowed me to learn more about Orthodoxy and Orthodox people and happenings, mainly through the “Our Life in Christ” podcast and the different interviews.
It helped me along in as a catechumen and helps to keep me attuned to things Orthodox in a secular world.
I’ve very much appreciated the encouragement Ancient Faith Radio gives me throughout the week. As a college student, the podcasts I listen to (notably Fr. Tom Soroka’s) help me to “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Most of my listening is by downloading podcasts that allow me to start and end my day with thoughts of Christ and how my relationship with him, my actions, my struggles, and my desires are impacting my life. This perspective has allowed me to focus on things that are truly important. I am now less stressed, more focused, and a much better individual.
I really enjoy just having the music on in the background as I work at home or in the office. It also provides a nice break when I hear someone reading a prayer or words from the church fathers because I will stop what I am doing for a few minutes to listen. In a way, it lifts me out of the mundane worldly tasks and sets my mind to higher thoughts, at least for a moment. I also enjoy the podcasts, especially the recent series on the Bible, and my husband and I will listen to “The Path” nearly every weekday as we are having breakfast, or at the end of the day and we will discuss or reflect on the readings. This is helpful because normally he reads in Russian and I in English, so listening to it together makes it a more communal experience. Overall, I am extremely grateful to have access to Ancient Faith Radio.
It puts me at peace just listening to the music. I like popular music as well, but Ancient Faith Radio has a different effect on me. Stress seems to melt away as I’m listening, even if just for a few moments.
I find the music very relaxing after a hard day’s work.
The chants are beautiful, and I like to have it playing while I do my homework to remind me of God’s greatness.
It’s difficult to stay focused on Christ as the day progresses due to the nature of my work. Ancient Faith Radio serves as a ready reminder.
Although I belong to the Roman Rite of Catholicism, I have an interest in the Byzantine Rite. Your station helps relax me and keep the music of the Byzantine Liturgy in my mind, sometimes giving me food for thought in my meditations.
“Our Life in Christ” is very helpful for thinking through important doctrines. “Opinionated Tailor Talks Shop” is well done as sort of a behind the story story… very enriching! Pastoral Ponderings are often convicting. I also enjoy and am encouraged by Fr. Hopko’s lectures and sermons.
I have learned more about the Christian faith in the few months I have been listening to Ancient Faith Radio than from all the years (30 something) I have growing up in the Catholic schools/community.
It has provided a source of pure orthodox listening programs that has allowed many Orthodox Christians to get in touch with something spiritual in a very secular world.
It helps me stay connected to my faith. It is a great help when traveling. The podcasts are terrific since I can listen on my own schedule.
I was lead to Orthodoxy 3 years ago; AFR has been a huge blessing and aid in my young and growing knowledge and understanding of Orthodoxy through its teachings and especially its chanting and music.
AFR has changed my life.
AFR is very important now that I am unable to get Again magazine. I listen as often as possible.
I am so grateful to have a way to access Orthodox worship music and content. This has been immensely helpful in my own pilgrimage to Orthodoxy.
I get to keep my mind on God and his Son Jesus Christ while carrying out daily duties.
It has familiarized me with Eastern Christianity.
AFR keeps me focused on Christ and my spirit is always uplifted.
Ancient Faith Radio is my mentor. I stand daily under the tutelage of great music, holy readings, and great teaching within the Tradition of the Church. For a convert like me, AFR is like catching up on a lifetime of learning. It also makes my day centered and holy. Listening is like praying the Jesus Prayer all day long, as it centers my spirit in the middle of my busy work day. I also love it as I can introduce friends, colleagues and neighbors to Orthodoxy in a non-threatening way.
It has been a great source of catechesis and inspiration.
Ancient Faith Radio is a gentle reminder throughout my work day of who I am, an Orthodox Christian, and who I represent to others, Christ and his Church. Perhaps it helps with practicing patience more often by keeping the words of the Church streaming through my daily conscience.
I’m an avid radio listener. I have listened to many of your podcasts. I have enjoyed the special lectures offered by Father Tom Hopko and the sermons by Fr. Patrick Reardon. I have AFR Music playing while having dinner or during the weekends. I can thank AFR for making me aware of The Orthodox Study Bible which I requested as a Christmas gift. I received it last February and have been enjoying it so much. I could go on and on here. All the offerings you have for those of us (I’m sure the numbers must be ever increasing) that have AFR as a part of their daily lives are so wonderful. Thank you and please keep doing what you all do so very, very well.
AFR provides a newer and greater understanding of God’s love.
It’s great. At the monasteries they read the Fathers during their meals. At my place I listen to AFR during meals.
I listen to the streaming music station while at work and it really helps center my day. When things aren’t going well or are getting too frustrating, I can just take a moment to focus on the music and reorient myself. I also download many of the podcasts to listen to on the train each day, which have been extremely helpful to me in understanding so much more of our Faith. As a convert of only a few years, being able to listen to the insights of those such as Fr. Thomas Hopko, Fr. Stephen Freeman as well as Molly Sabourin and Frederica Mathewes-Green, fills me with such gratitude for this ministry. (And I have to admit that one of the very first things I listen to is anything new from Fr. Huneycutt.) I feel very blessed to be a recipient of your labors and I am trying to get my non-Orthodox father to listen as well. Thank you.
I am presently listening to “Search the Scriptures” by Presbytera Jeannie Constantinou. It is marvelous! I could listen to AFR all day long, but I must work and sleep. I support the site financially, and pray that others will, too. AFR actualizes the “warmth and welcome” of the church to converts and cradle Orthodox alike. I’ll listen for the rest of my life.
It is a comfort to me. The pieces whether sung or instrumental are remarkable, powerful, beautiful and peaceful. I listen to the station in my work cube and in my home. The podcasts are informative and directly relevant to my life as an active Orthodox wife and parent. This station acts as an auditory reminder for me that Christ is in our midst.
I find the podcasts most edifying. They give me different perspectives on the life of the Church.
It helps me focus and gives me encouragement and refreshment in the midst of a very busy schedule.
I love all the music and talk podcasts. They are very helpful to our spiritual life at home, since we live somewhat in a rural area, and the church is a little far to drive. Also, my children love to hear it in the morning when they begin the day.
The voices of those singing to the Lord keep my spirits up.
This station has played a significant role in my life! Oh, what a joy to discover my faith!
My commitment to Christ has been widened and deepened by exposure to AFR.
I love learning about the history and theology of our Church. All the different programs really promote a healthy outlook on how to look at our faith. Hearing converts speak is great.
I’ve only recently discovered the Orthodox Church and am amazed at what I’m learning. I am very thankful to have found this!
AFR helps me to keep my mind on Christ and not on earthly cares. It helps me to drown out modern music, which is detrimental to the soul.
I love Ancient Faith Radio. It is different from all the other loud obnoxious music that I hear every day because it carries a beautiful message and allows me to concentrate on God more during my day.
The podcasts have been incredibly beneficial to me. I am on the road a lot and it is great to hear Orthodox Christian programming in my car. I really enjoy the instruction I receive from Fr. Hopko and Presbytera Jeannie. Very few of my friends and family are Orthodox, so I am always promoting this site as a great way to find out more about the faith from people far more knowledgeable than me.
It has ignited my faith. I appreciate and have been encouraged to delve much more deeply into my faith. As I also teach the High School Sunday School class at our church, I have tried to impart the depth of Orthodox spirituality to our youth. I recently played them a podcast from Matthew Gallatin explaining the Orthodox understanding of original sin, and they were truly amazed. Understanding God as a purely loving God who wants a relationship with them now, not tomorrow, has, I hope, changed they way they view religion.
Without AFR my understanding of Orthodoxy would be juvenile.
As a choir member, I am particularly moved by the music of our Faith. It is wonderful to have a place where my heart can be fed any time I need it.
Listening to the podcasts every week has provided a deeper understanding of the Faith.
