Ancient Faith Radio has been a godsend to me. The nearest Orthodox church is more than an hour and a half from my home. It gives me an opportunity to stay rooted in the Church more often than I normally would be. Thank you for Ancient Faith Radio.
AFR provides a sense of prayerful balance to my day. Throughout the workday, AFR keeps my mind centered on Christ and the beautiful melodies of the Church. AFR is a subtle reminder to attempt to lead a more prayerful and holy life.
My Evangelical church is deficient in some things that will help me to grow in my relationship with God. AFR has made up for some of those deficiencies and allowed me to draw closer to God. It is truly a blessing.
Ancient Faith Radio keeps me connected to the Orthodox world. I especially enjoy the music and the Hours. Prayer life is very important to me. I look forward to listening to more (podcasts, interviews, etc.).
We love Ancient Faith Radio. It is so wonderful, and it really helps us spiritually. I also play it every morning for my children, and we learn more hymns. Keep up the good work!
It is my major contact with Orthodoxy. We are in the process of starting an Orthodox church and have no regular services yet. I am also a traveling salesman and listen in my motel room. Thank you!
AFR is a huge help and comfort as we have moved from Anglicanism to Orthodoxy!
A pure blessing! When I am at home, I spend the whole day listening to AFR.
It brings peace to an otherwise chaotic day. When I find myself at wits-end, I go to the Internet, plug in my earphones and listen to Ancient Faith Radio. While I feel overwhelmed with work issues, and often am close to tears, the sounds of Orthodoxy soothe my soul and bring me peace so I can take a deep breath and continue on with the rest of my work day! I can only listen at work. I don’t have Internet access at home.
It has made a huge difference in my life. I was born an Orthodox Christian and thought I was fairly faithful. Once I started listening to the various podcasts, I began to have a deeper understanding of the faith and have been learning the difference between faith and ethnic traditions that sometimes are taught as being faith.
Generally we have quiet in our home, no TV, very little radio, however, when I am doing housework and need a nudge to keep thoughts less worldly I so appreciate AFR. It is also a wonderful tool I recommend it to others who are interested in the faith--you have a podcast for everything!
As a recently converted Methodist to Anglicanism, I am learning so much more about my faith and relationship to God. I am deeply grateful for the service and information you provide.
A wonderful resource to understand the Orthodox Church. Though Evangelical, I have a profound respect for the Orthodox Church and her believers. Many enlightening programs have given me an inkling of a bigger faith; I don’t always agree, but you all have great stuff.
If there were words to describe what AFR has meant to me, I would write them. It has been a balm to my soul. It has been uplifting to my mind.
I have been investigating Orthodox Christianity for about one year. AFR has been an invaluable source of Orthodox teaching and information that I listen to as often as I can. It has brought me close to becoming an Orthodox Christian. God bless you and the work you do!
It keeps me tethered to my newfound faith when I am not at church. As a choir member, it keeps my mind on the music of the liturgy.
It is peace filling my home while I do housework and has wonderful podcasts that accompany me while I walk. Thank you!
It is the real word in this heretical TV, radio and Internet world hosted by heretical groups. I am happy and thankful that Christ my Savior loves me so much that he doesn’t want me to be lost and has introduced me to Ancient Faith Radio.
It is helping me on my path to Christ. As there are currently very few English speaking Orthodox churches around London, by me listening to your programs it is helping me on my path to convert to the Orthodox Church. Thank you!
As the parish priest for a mission in Wellington, New Zealand, I have found AFR to be a very valuable resource for teaching both in the parish and to the wider non-Orthodox community. Indeed, it is probably my most valuable resource at present.
Very wonderful presentation of the rich fullness of Orthodoxy! Keep up the blessed work in gently and lovingly offering Orthodoxy to our world. God bless!
AFR is a high-quality Orthodox oasis on the Internet. Its shows are well-made and insightful. It also does not push this or that jurisdiction, instead focusing on the message of Orthodoxy as a whole.
AFR is an oasis for me in a troubling world of uncertainty. I listen often and my children love to listen, too. We are going through a very difficult time right now as my husband of twenty years walked out on our family and filed for divorce. Being able to tune into AFR gives me and my children much comfort. Thank you for all that you do.
It is a wonderful way to remain grounded in the teachings of the Church. I also listen to AFR at work. It has been such a blessing with such a wide variety of lessons and teachers. I am very glad to see the addition of the saint for the day. I was hoping for this!
I appreciate the richness of the liturgical music and the breadth of voices on your podcasts to introduce someone like me (non-Orthodox, but seriously considering making the Journey) to the historic Faith. Ancient Faith Radio has broadcast pieces that have been both an intellectual challenge and a healing salve for my spirit, many times in the same piece.
AFR is a source of ancient teachings and great music. I enjoy the exposure to a tradition that has always seemed veiled and mysterious and unapproachable.
I play it in the office to keep my Orthodox faith on some level of consciousness all the time. I learn a lot from the podcasts (I subscribe to most of them). I can listen to them on my iPod while driving.
It helps me focus frequently, although intermittently, on our Lord while I am working. I especially like the occasional prayers and homilies. The music is a welcome alternative to contemporary Christian music. Thank you.
The Hours have been of great assistance in establishing a prayer rule discipline. Coming out of Lutheranism, the Illumined Heart podcast: “From Wittenberg to Antioch” and “The Lutheran Colloquium” have been exactly what I needed--when I needed it! I acquired the book One Flew Over the Onion Dome after listening to Orthodixie--this has also answered many questions.
I have really enjoyed AFR. The podcasts are very helpful and I listen to them all the time. I like the variety and have learned a tremendous amount about Orthodoxy from listening to them. Thanks!
Great comforting and encouraging source of spiritual nourishment. My work schedule prevents me from attending many parish services and functions so AFR fills a big gap.
AFR has deepened my love for the Church and has helped feed my hunger for a closer walk with the Risen One.
As a teacher, I need calm amid the storm of the day. During my planning period, lunch, and after school, I listen to Ancient Faith Radio to relax and praise God. Primarily after school, I tune to interviews and various podcasts. I have been contemplating converting to Orthodoxy for quite some time. This station guides me as I journey. From the depths of my soul, I thank you.
I just found the site. Wow! I’m trying to decide which podcasts to download. I wish I could download them all but I don’t have that many hours in a day. Thank you!
Since I discovered Ancient Faith Radio it has become part of my life, and I feel very much part of the Orthodox Church and grateful for all that it means to me.
Being a second generation American of Russian origin, I had a cultural connection to Orthodoxy but no real outlet to connect to it on a personal level. Additionally, the language barrier to participation in the Russian Orthodox Church played a significant role in separating me from the Orthodox faith. Ancient Faith Radio has been a solution to both problems. I had no idea that there was an English-speaking Orthodox community, much less one as rich as I’ve found with AFR.
Our Orthodox friends told us about Ancient Faith Radio and listening to AFR was actually a major factor in my husband’s decision to become Orthodox.
I have been able to listen to Orthodox music and prayers while being surrounded by Protestant music and, well, okay, just music, because they mostly play their “worship music” and I don’t see that as prayers. By listening to you on my PC at work, some who do not believe in God, and only know what non-Orthodox people tell them are tuning in to listen to your music and prayers, as well as all the educational material you supply. I know I have learned more about my faith due to your efforts than anywhere else. Thank you for your hard work and talent that you bring to this ministry.
I am just becoming acquainted with AFR. It is wonderful! It helps me to be centered with my faith around the clock, especially at the office where sometimes we tend to forget our values. This has been long overdue. It is also perfect for my yoga workouts. Thank you! I will be donating soon.
Living, as I do, far from the nearest Orthodox community, AFR has helped me to stay connected with the daily prayers of the Church and generally provides edification and spiritual support through the hymns and readings from the lives of the saints. I am grateful to God for this resource.
Ancient Faith Radio has given me a lot of insight into our religion regarding canons and how men were meant to live. Personally, I love how I can get in touch with the various people on the podcasts in time of trails or when I need advice. Everyone on Ancient Faith Radio is very supportive and informative, and I really wish that you can air on regular radio so I can listen in my car.
Peace during my busy day. It is also a great opening to conversations. The programming is just outstanding! Thank you. I pray for you daily.
It is a very important connection with Orthodox Christians for me. I love the Orthodox way of thinking. I don’t know why I am not an Orthodox. Perhaps it is because of my cultural background. The Orthodox way of thinking is to me like a new language. God bless you all.
As a Swedish “liker of orthodoxy,” Ancient Faith Radio has brought me up-to-date information and relevant programs on the Orthodox life today. In Sweden, the Orthodox Church is merely a church for immigrants, and there isn’t much information and material in Swedish. I especially like the programs on conversion, and people’s stories on that subject.
I enjoy listening to podcasts of homilies and lectures, especially as an “inquirer” into Orthodoxy. I occasionally listen to AFR during my planning period at school as a decompression and re-focusing time.
You have provided a marvelous way to remain focused throughout the day for a busy parish pastor, often alone in the office and in need of some source of music that does not disturb sermon preparation. You also provide a constant source of theological reflection that has motivated my continued study of the differences between our communions. Thanks!
Ancient Faith Radio has become an extension of my prayer life. Each morning, when I wake up, it is one of the first things to be “turned on.” Listening to it each day helps me achieve calmness in my busy life. Thank you for your ministry!
It has been a source of great fellowship and instruction. It is also a way to feel connected to my fellow believers. It also brings the beautiful music of the Orthodox Church into my home and reminds me to pray.
Ancient Faith Radio has changed my life. You have helped me in my journey toward Orthodoxy as well as helped me focus more on the spiritual rather than the temporal. I have learned much about Orthodoxy through the many incredible podcasts you offer. Thank you for your faithfulness to Christ, his Church, and her mission.
How may we pray without ceasing? By listening to Ancient Faith Radio! We can listen to the hymns of the Church as we work or rest in our homes, and I can review the titles on the podcasts and interviews, and find edification and instruction on nearly any topic the Holy Spirit leads me to. Thank you for using your talents and gifts to provide such a wonderful forum for your listeners. Thanks be to God for your ministry.
Ancient Faith Radio has been a huge part of my learning process. I was converted and baptized into Orthodoxy in 1997 but two years later I fell away. This last Pascha the Holy Spirit worked in me to bring me back into the flock in a big way. Soon after I found AFR and have been loading my iPod shuffle full of your programs ever since.
I am new to this site, and I am absolutely astounded by the quality of your material, especially the beautiful Orthodox hymns and chants. What a blessing we Orthodox Christians have to be able to listen to our own broadcasts. May the Lord our God grant all of you people involved with this radio program strength and everything necessary to continue to share this great gift with all people.
I have been studying church history, and in that study I have been introduced to Orthodox chant. I started reading Orthodox books after my daughter wrote her Master’s Degree thesis on icons (she and her husband graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary). We have both been leaning toward the Orthodox Church in recent months, however, I find it too nationalistic and it is difficult to break through the language and ethnic barriers. Ancient Faith Radio on the other hand, does not have those fences, which makes it easier for me to pray and meditate with. Thank you for opening doors that have been shut to me.
I grew up Orthodox, but I never delved into it until recently. I love the music on Ancient Faith Radio. It is calming. I listen to it during work. Since I am mostly by myself it is a way to feel connected to prayer even while I am doing my job. This is a rare opportunity in our secular world. Thank you for providing this service. I hope many more people can find joy in it.
I have found AFR in the past month, and listening to it has greatly uplifted my day, especially at work. I arrive at work two hours before anyone else so I can listen to the programs without interruption. It also aids me in “praying unceasingly” each day.
It re-kindled the flame in my soul, which was very dim.
Ancient Faith Radio helps me keep Orthodoxy in my day. That is not an easy accomplishment in a state (and suburb) where there are not many Orthodox people and where most people do not know what Orthodox Christianity means.
Ancient Faith Radio, to me as an Evangelical, is something like an icon of Orthodoxy as a whole. Perhaps that shows my poor understanding of iconography—but I am grateful.
It has meant the world to me. I have the computer on upstairs and AFR blaring, so as I’m doing household chores there is all this wonderful Orthodox music drifting downstairs and filling all my senses! What a wonderful environment to be in! Glory to God!
Our expenses come on a monthly basis and it is so nice to know we have faithful listeners who are willing to support us on a monthly basis as well. Would you consider signing up for a monthly donation? Details are available on our support page.
Thank you!
