167 - Orthodoxy and the Death Penalty
March 17, 2011 Length: 33:25
On March 9, 2011 the Governor of Illinois signed a law banning the death penalty in his state, commuting the death sentence of 15 prisoners on death row. In the current episode of The Illumined Heart, Fr Peter-Michael Preble, a staunch anti-death penalty advocate, and host Kevin Allen discuss the pros and cons of capital punishment from an Orthodox perspective. Fr.Peter references the book Contemporary Moral Issues Facing The Orthodox Christian by Fr. Stanley Harakas.
"I have to say that AFR was one of the primary factors/catalysts for my conversion to Orthodoxy. I'm so glad that I discovered your site and through it the richness of Orthodox spirituality and theology."
