Paradosis Studies in the Living Tradition
Start date: February 2008
Paradosis is a Greek word from the New Testament which can be defined as:
+ a giving over which is done by word of mouth or in writing, i.e. tradition by instruction, narrative, precept, etc.
Disciples of Jesus Christ within the canonical Orthodox communion believe strongly that we must study the Scriptures and the teaching of the apostolic Church as something which we receive, something which is handed down to us and which we must strive to learn and carry on to the next generation faithfully.
This podcast series comprises the bible studies, catechumen sessions, university lectures and retreat talks Fr John Hainsworth delivers on a regular basis. The word Paradosis expresses the spirit in which these studies in the living tradition of the Church are delivered perhaps more directly than 'Bible Study' or 'Lecture' does.
