Ancient Faith Kids is our publishing and free digital ministry that creates Orthodox Christian educational and inspirational content for children. Our mission is to celebrate the sacredness of childhood and inspire young people on their journey to fully knowing Jesus Christ. Did you know that as part of your yearly tax planning, you can donate appreciated assets such as stock and reduce your income taxes?
Subject to Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations, here is how it works:
- Let’s say you purchase a share of stock for $100.
- Over the years, the stock has appreciated and is now worth $500.
- If you sell that stock instead of donating it, you will realize a $400 capital gain and pay taxes on that capital gain.
- However, if you donate that stock to Ancient Faith Ministries, a 501(c)(3), IRS-recognized organization, you will receive a full $500 tax deduction.
